The Story
THE STORY
“To Catch A Nut” shines a light on the bumpy and winding road to female pleasure: the confusing signals, the pitfalls, the “almost-there” moments, and the rare triumphs that make the ride worth it.
Dating is awkward. Some do it as a sport, some see it as a necessary step on the way to finding love. At best, it is a chance to open up and get to know someone in their most vulnerable ways. At worst, it’s a drunk commute back home.

Emmy, the protagonist of the show, Emmy is a young woman in her early twenties trying to make a living in the big city. She is getting to know herself better after separating with her long-time boyfriend. Her quasi-creative job lands her on the path to hear dream job: art direction for films. Her shabby apartment is small and affordable, but her relationship with her flatmate is not very smooth.
She has her shit together and everything is fine on the surface until a soft void creeps inside her at night, and suddenly her life feels like an awkward small talk session.

?WHY MAKE A SHOW ABOUT ORGASM
WHAT DOES TO CATCH A NUT MEAN?
It is an idiomatic phrase meaning to reach an orgasm, usually referring to male ejaculation. Here, it’s universal. It's a cheeky metaphor for women finally finding their own elusive, much deserved moment of blissful explosion.

Having sex without pleasure is as pointless as pedaling a bike without wheels. Long before we find the balance between crazy hormones and reasonable decisions, we get spoon-fed all sorts of ideas about sexuality. Advertisements, TV shows, our friends, aunts, uncles, everyone and their mother has an opinion on the subject. In reality, it’s a complicated journey that is unique and deeply intimate for each person.
By no means can sex be reduced to pleasure, or pleasure to orgasm. They’re related to one another but each holds a universe of meaning. We have lived, read and listened to many stories that debunk the conventions for women (and men and everyone in between) that paint a simple, bite-size picture of sexuality. Our project is an ode to all the stories that we lived and heard. They inspired us to bring a gritty climactic adventure from self-discovery to self-service.
